news: The Fantastic Five

ITP is delighted to have 5 new graduates joining our team. Jasper, Louise and Phil have joined our Nottingham office and Rebecca and Tomas are in our London team. All will be joining our SUNRISE graduate programme to support their professional development, as they embark on their career in transport planning. Here's a little more about them...

Jasper Smith, Consultant

Jasper recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA in Geography with Business. Based in our Nottingham office his first SUNRISE placement is in the Development Planning team. He's particularly looking forward to working on projects that create well-connected places and exploring the important connection between people and their environment. He's already supporting the team to develop Brown Sign strategies for several holiday parks across the UK to improve accessibility to the sites.

Jasper Smith

Jasper loves football and outside of work spends his spare time following Arsenal’s fortunes. Having interrailed across Europe this summer, Jasper was fascinated by the variety of sustainable transport interventions in the cities he visited, notably in Amsterdam and Prague.

Louise Twining
Louise Twining, Consultant

Like Jasper, Louise also graduated from the University of Nottingham this summer, but with a BSc in Geography. Whilst her dissertation focused on the effects of dams on river processes, she studied both human and physical geography during her degree and has interests in urban environments and sustainability. Louise has joined our Policy and Strategy Team for her first SUNRISE placement, but is also supporting the Public Transport team to audit bus stops across Warwickshire this month.

Outside of work, Louise spent 15 years dancing, perfecting Tap, Modern, Jazz and Musical Theatre as well as performing in bi-annual dance school shows. More recently, she's spent her summer travelling across Canada, starting in Toronto and finishing in Vancouver; and stopping off in the Rockies in between!

Phil Coe, Consultant

This Summer, Phil graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA in Geography where his passion for sustainable transport evolved and developed. His dissertation focused on how grassroots football could help tackle the climate crisis by looking at local travel patterns to games in Nottinghamshire. This interest in how people travel has led Phil to our Influencing Behaviour team, where he's looking forward working alongside businesses and their employees at East Midlands Gateway to encourage sustainable commuting.

Phillip Coe

Outside of work, Phil enjoys watching Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and travelling to different places, both home and abroad. If Phil was to choose a superpower it would be invisibility so he could have endless holidays!

Rebecca Phillips
Rebecca Phillips, Consultant

Rebecca has recently graduated with a BA in Geography with International Relations from the University of Southampton. For her dissertation she explored the changes to commuter travel behaviour as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, with a specific focus on the influence of socio-demographic factors such as age, gender, and education. Rebecca's first SUNRISE placement is in our Public Transport team where she's investigating bus fares and ticketing options in different areas with high bus usage across the UK.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys baking and going for long walks with her 11 year old cocker spaniel Alfie. She last went on holiday to Madeira, Portugal and is planning to go to Amsterdam in the next few months.

Tomas Maranon Finbow, Consultant

Tomas graduated from the University of Bristol this summer with a Masters in Engineering Mathematics. During his degree, he was particularly interested in pedestrian modelling, data analytics and machine learning techniques. Joining our Policy and Strategy Team, Tomas hopes to contribute new analysis methods, coding and analytical skills to improve the data analysis experience for everyone.

Tomos Maranon Finbow

Having two different backgrounds (English and Spanish), Tomas loves to go back home to Spain on holiday and spend time with his family. He also enjoys watching live sports events and plans to attend all the tennis grand slams one day!

With the addition of Jasper, Louise, Phil, Rebecca and Tomas, we now have a team of 50+ working across the Development Planning, Policy & Strategy, International, Influencing Behaviour and Public Transport disciplines. We're continuing to grow and currently recruiting for Senior and Principal Consultants. If you'd like to join our team find out more.
