ITP recently welcomed 3 new starters to our SUNRISE scheme and we are pleased to introduce you to Divyesh, Jessica, and Matthew, who are all poised to make significant contributions in their respective sectors. Divyesh joins as a Consultant in our Birmingham office, whilst Matthew and Jessica join as Graduate Consultants in our Nottingham office. Their addition enhances our capacity to meet the rising demand for our multidisciplinary services, which aim to improve the way the world moves. To learn more about our new team members, read on below!

Divyesh Lama

With a master's degree in Transport Planning and Engineering from the University of Leeds and prior experience as a Transit Architect in India, Divyesh is well-prepared to embark on his transport journey with ITP. Situated in ITP’s Birmingham office, he is eager to leverage the diverse sectors ITP operates in and its collaborative culture to expand his knowledge and skills. His academic research which focussed on the effects of improving Public Transport on car ownership, kindled his interest in the dynamics of Public Transport and mobility. Divyesh has joined our International Team and is eager to work on Public Transport projects where he could employ his design, engineering, and analytical skills. He has joined ITP’s SUNRISE scheme. Divyesh is currently working on the E-Mobility support and investment platform where ITP is providing technical assistance to the Asian Development Bank in implementing their programme for accelerating e-mobility in Asia and the Pacific region.

When not at work, Divyesh is passionate about sports. He's an avid long-distance runner, continuously working to enhance his skills as an aspiring table tennis player, and he's an enthusiastic cricket fan who loves to explore the UK in his spare time. Additionally, he has a strong desire to travel and is looking forward to embarking on a European tour in the near future.

Jessica Burt

Jessica graduated in 2022 from the University of Northampton with a first-class degree in BSc (Hons) Geography. She is now based in the Nottingham office following the SUNRISE graduate scheme. Utilising her interest and experience in marketing, her first sector placement is with the Influencing Behaviour Team. With her dissertation focusing on experiences and spatial interactions of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder in urban spaces, and her consumer behaviour experience, she has a great interest in understanding the way people interact with their surroundings, seeing what factors impact their decisions, and more recently how these experiences impact their travel choices. Being part of this sector is an excellent opportunity to express these passions and allows her to be able to learn and understand these factors from a different perspective, while also remaining engaged with the public, specifically though the Derbyshire BSIP project. As well as the Influencing Behaviour Team, Jessica is also working with the Policy and Strategy team on their Blue Badge Appeals project due to her dissertation experience, personal experience, and interest in this field.

Jess Burt

Outside of work, Jessica has a keen interest in all things music related and you can often find her at live events and she also attends weekly music lessons. Living in the UK all her life, Jessica has explored many places across the country and in the future, she would like to take this further afield and begin exploring locations across the globe.

Matthew Tough

Matthew graduated in the summer from the University of Leeds with a degree in BA Geography with Transport Studies. Based in the Nottingham office, his first SUNRISE placement is on the Public Transport team. Whilst his dissertation focused on the decline in support for the Labour Party in the North of England, Matthew has also held a long-standing interest in sustainability and the role transport can play in tackling issues like climate change and social inequality. Being a part of the Public Transport Team is an exciting opportunity for him to experience how major transport initiatives are developed, funded and delivered, and he will be contributing to the success of a number of these projects, including bus network reviews, DRT implementation and funding bids such as ZEBRA2.

Outside of work, Matthew has a keen interest in sport. He plays both football and cricket and likes hiking, often visiting Derbyshire and the Lake District to experience the Great British countryside. He also enjoys travelling, having recently visited Amsterdam and Corfu and hopes to be able to experience some more new places soon.

Matt Tough

We're always looking for bright and ambitious people to join our team. If you like the sound of being part of the ITP team, please check out our current vacancies, or get in touch with Jim Bradley for an informal discussion.
