news: Two new public transport projects for ITP

West Midlands Trains Bus and Rail Integration

ITP has been appointed by West Midlands Trains to assess the extent to which interchange between bus and train is possible at stations across its network. The project will collate details of existing bus services, together with community transport provision in each area, identifying gaps in provision and opportunities for future development and improvement. The findings will be used by WMT to consider the way it might improve bus / rail integration and assist the community transport sector in becoming more involved in helping people access rail services, a commitment made within its existing franchise agreement.

Melton Mowbray Passenger Transport Network

We have also been appointed by Leicestershire County Council to develop a Passenger Transport Network Plan for Melton Mowbray, to form part of an overall transport vision and strategy, covering all travel modes, that is being formulated in the coming months. This will build on the opportunity provided by the building of a new distributor road and take account of the significant planned housing and commercial developments in and around the town.
