news: A Call for Evidence on Parking Management

ITP has launched this call for evidence on behalf of London Councils to identify the benefits and best practices in relation to parking management in urban contexts.

The evidence will help inform a study to make the case for London local authority parking management as an essential public service, providing evidence and statistical information for London Councils’ proactive and reactive communications in support of the Positive Parking Agenda.  In particular, we are eager to understand:

  • The range and extent of benefits that parking management schemes can deliver – in terms of safety, accessibility, congestion, air quality, positive impacts on the local economy (e.g. businesses, jobs), etc.
  • Examples of specific schemes or controls that have been implemented by local authorities and the benefits that these have delivered, including Impact Assessments, Evaluation Reports and other unpublished papers and reports.

Both quantitative and qualitative evidence is welcomed, with any literature that is not currently in the public domain particularly appreciated.

We would greatly value the co-operation of all relevant stakeholders in responding to this call.  Examples of schemes may be used as case studies in the final report, subject to the relevant consents being granted.

To submit your response, please contact ITP’s Tom Fleming (fleming@itpworld.net) before 12:00 on Friday 9th February 2018.
