Transport Engineer/Planner

Senior Consultant

We are looking for a highly-motivated transport engineer/planner to join the ITP team, with experience of working on private sector development planning projects.

Through your work in the role, we will expect you to:

  • Contribute to the transport aspects of development planning projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and local authorities
  • Undertake technical aspects of Transport Assessments and Statements
  • Supervise and train less-experienced members of the team
  • Support ITP's transport policy, strategy development and feasibility study projects

We will provide a supportive and collegiate team environment in which you will be able to develop your skills through work on a range of interesting and challenging projects.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Good understanding of the development planning industry
  • Traffic engineering skills, including junction design and signals (including the use of CAD and standard junction models to assess capacity)
  • Good understanding of transport data sets, including the overseeing of traffic surveys
  • Be a Chartered Engineer, hold a TPP qualification, or be working towards them
