Masam is a transport economist and planner with experience in both UK and international projects. His areas of specialisation are demand and economic forecasting, macro-economics and socio-economic evaluation, transport economic appraisal and evaluation, econometrics and stated preference analysis. Previous to joining ITP he worked for I.T.Transport Ltd and Jacobs Consultancy on a wide range of projects involving heavy rail, light rail, rural roads, BRT, and Road User Charging. He has recently worked on projects in Africa, South East Asia and Latin America; including an assessment of the macro-economic impact of rural infrastructure projects in Nicaragua, an analysis of Road User Charging and a Strategic Master Plan for Tanzania, research in low cost equipment in Cambodia, socio-economic assessments of rural road projects in Kenya and Zambia and an investigation into the viability of applying PPPs to major toll road concessions in South Africa. He has also worked on a variety of projects based in UK and other areas in the developed world including a forecast of the proposed New Mississippi River Crossing in the USA, construction of a revenue model on behalf of Stagecoach in their bid for the East Midland Railway Franchise, modelling of Greece’s Central Motorway, Analysis of UK Transport Subsidies and a comparison of Dublin’s LUAS tram line with an alternative BRT line. |
