Ian is an Associate with ITP and joined the company in 1998, and specialises in traffic engineering, transport planning with particular and recognised international excellence in BRT infrastructure design and implementation. Ian has been instrumental too much of ITP involvement in BRT infrastructure design and implementation over the past few years, and his skills and experience has seen him acting as design manager for BRT schemes in Nigeria, Ghana, India and the Philippines. Within Nigeria, Ian has provided expert engineering design advice, which has witnessed the implementation of Africa’s first BRT system in Lagos, a system which has now been successfully operating since March 2008. In Ghana, India and the Philippines, Ian has developed BRT infrastructure design proposals, and specific to Ghana and India provided expert advice to the local client on the BRT infrastructure designs for each of the nation’s capital cities. In addition to his proficient skills in BRT design, Ian has also been involved in developing public transport strategies, most notable in Jordan (Amman) and Noosa in Queensland, Australia. In addition to his overseas portfolio, Ian has been heavily involved in developing integrated land-use and transport planning studies, accessibility assessments, and transport assessments at several prestigious developments throughout the UK. These strategies has enabled Ian to apply his knowledge associated with the traditional disciplines involved in traffic engineering and transport planning, but also demonstrated Ian’s ability to manage complex commissions, with proven results delivered on-time and within budget. In summary, Ian has a proven and unrivalled track record in developing BRT infrastructure proposals for a multitude of international clients, and this is reflected in his enthusiasm and desire to assist in contributing towards improving personal mobility. His BRT design skills are grounded by his excellence and understanding in the traditional forms of transport engineering, which has enabled Ian to successfully assist in the promotion of several prestigious developments throughout the UK. |
