Accessibility
Transport plays a vital role in providing people living in rural areas, small towns and deprived areas with access to vital services and employment and leisure opportunities. ITP's work on accessibility assessment and planning dates back to the company's formation and is completely in line with current government priorities. We have used GIS-based tools (including the DfT accession software) combined with user and stakeholder interviews to conduct accessibility assessments, and have developed various plans and projects to address community needs. Our understanding of accessibility has enabled us to prepare accessibility strategies for public sector clients in support of their preparation for Local Transport Plans and for the private sector to demonstrate accessible locations for development.
